The author Jim Hall taught in primary and secondary schools in Scotland, Hertfordshire and London for 19 years, and for 13 years he was joint physical education adviser for Ealing and Hounslow, before becoming a physical education inspector. He has been a visiting lecturer at Kingston, London Metropolitan and Roehampton Universities, teaching dance, games and gymnastic activities to teachers in training.
