Parafilm M provides a flexible sealing solution trusted in laboratories worldwide. This 75 m × 5 cm format delivers extended length in a narrower width ideal for high-volume labs requiring efficient sealing across multiple items.
Manufactured from polyolefins and paraffin waxes Parafilm M combines elasticity with chemical resistance. It adheres to glass plastic and metal labware providing a protective barrier against evaporation and contamination. With a service temperature range from –45 ºC to +50 ºC (melting point +60 ºC) it performs reliably in routine laboratory environments. The film is resistant to saline solutions most common inorganic acids and bases and solvents such as methanol ethanol and 2-propanol. It is not resistant to diethyl ether chloroform carbon tetrachloride benzene or toluene.
Practical Applications– Sealing labware such as test tubes and flasks– Protecting cultures during incubation and storage– Reducing evaporation in samples and reagents– Large scale use in pharmaceutical food and beverage research and education labs
