Transfer Dye Starter Kit

If you just want to try these synthetic fibre dyes this starter kit will allow you to test out their diversity.

The set comes with 100ml transfix preparation, thickener, disposable gloves, pipettes, instructions, shade card and 8 x 10g powders: Scarlet, Lemon, Leaf Green, Vivid Blue, Vivid Violet, Yellow, Turquoise and Wine Red.

Fabric Transfer Dyes are excellent for dyeing synthetic fabrics such as polyester, nylon, cellulose acetate, Lutradur and Evolon. They are also called disperse dyes. For deep shades use 25g of dye to 125ml of water, for pastel shades use 25g of dye to 500ml water.

Use this dye to soak your fabric or apply as paint. If you want to thicken up the dye for painting and printing onto synthetics, mix with Manutex.

These dyes can also be used on mixed fibre fabrics as long as the natural fibre content is less than 25%. If it's higher than this brush on a layer of Specialist Crafts Transfix Fabric Preparation and leave it to dry thoroughly before applying colour.
